Sanel Redžić

Sanel Redžić is a celebrated classical guitarist renowned for his extraordinary technical command, profound musicality, and captivating stage presence. Hailed as one of the most versatile and accomplished guitarists of his generation, Redžić has earned international acclaim with performances spanning over 30 countries across Europe, Asia, North and South America, and beyond.

 

Born in 1988, in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sanel began studying guitar at the age of eight, completing his early music education with top honors. He further honed his artistry at the Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” in Weimar, where he earned his graduate, master’s, and Konzertexamen degrees.

 

Described by critics as a “guitar player with impressive skills” (Jazzthetik, Germany) and “an outstanding representative of the young guitar generation with unusual musical maturity” (Bonner Meisterkonzerte, Germany), Redžić consistently captivates audiences with his repertoire that spans baroque masterpieces to contemporary compositions.

 

He has performed in prestigious venues such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Tokyo’s Bunka Kaikan and Yamaha Hall, Moscow’s International House of Music, Prague’s Smetana Hall, National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kiew and Munich’s Gasteig. In addition to solo engagements, he collaborates extensively with chamber ensembles, orchestras and artists from various musical genres.

 

Redžić has garnered 36 major awards at international competitions, including first prizes at events such as the Tokyo International Guitar Competition, Forum Gitarre Wien, Kutna Hora, the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade and Changsha in China. His achievements have cemented his status as a distinguished figure in the guitar world, and he is regularly invited as a jury member for competitions and as a masterclass lecturer at festivals and universities globally.

 

Since 2011, Sanel has been sharing his artistry through YouTube, where his performances are highly appreciated by the online community. His renditions of works by Johann Sebastian Bach have gained particular acclaim, celebrated for their depth, precision, and emotional resonance. These recordings are widely admired among guitarists and music lovers worldwide.

 

Dedicated to expanding the guitar repertoire, he has premiered works written for him by composers such as Vojislav Ivanović, Konstantin Vassiliev, and Jan Depreter. He has also recorded extensively, with CDs produced in Sarajevo, Leipzig, Cologne, and Belgrade, and appearances on numerous radio and television stations.

 

A passionate educator, Redžić teaches at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek, Croatia, and the University of Erfurt, Germany. He also founded the Tuzla Guitar Week in 2022, a platform for nurturing young talent through collaboration with distinguished professors from around the world. In addition, he is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in arts at the University of Osijek, further enriching his already illustrious career.
